Financial planners and financial advisors:
Do you advise your clients on long-term care?
Now you can help your clients gain even greater financial security – with specialist care fees advice from Care To Be Different.

As you know…
- just because your client has savings or property does not necessarily mean they have to pay for care
- if your client has an elderly parent in care, the state cannot ask your client to pay for that care
- social care and nursing care are funded in completely different ways; nursing care is free
- in many cases it’s illegal for the state to force someone to sell their home to pay for care
How we help
As you know, it’s vital to help clients protect against the costs of long-term care. With our specialist care fees expertise we show you how your clients can avoid paying care fees unnecessarily – and potentialy claim back fees already paid. It means your clients may be able to:
- recover lost assets
- free up current assets
- ease their financial position
Our service is a natural extension to your own – and it means you can add even greater value for your clients.
Thousands of people every year are wrongly charged for care – and these care fees often amount to tens of thousands of pounds. If your client or their elderly relative has primarily health needs, they should receive NHS Continuing Healthcare. This is funded by the NHS and it covers 100% of care home fees.
Is your client already paying care fees?
- If your client is currently paying top-up care fees on behalf of an elderly relative, your client may be able to get those fees back.
- If your client has an elderly relative in full-time nursing care and paying care fees, they may be able to claim those fees back on behalf of their relative.
- If your actual client has health needs and is already paying for their own full-time nursing care, they may be able to claim for a refund.
In each case we can help. Our advice can make the difference between your client being able to leave an inheritance or not. And it can prevent the family home being taken away illegally to pay for care.
Is your client planning for the future?
If you’re currently helping your client plan ahead for possible long-term care costs, make sure they’re aware that the NHS has a duty to fund nursing care. Many people are incorrectly charged, and yet nursing care is free.

How we work
We work directly with your client, starting with an initial brief chat (free) to explore whether there’s a chance of reclaiming care fees and/or securing ongoing NHS funding for care. We do this by phone.
After that we charge for our services stage by stage, based on the amount of time required. We act as a mentor and guide for your client, showing them what to do at all times, who to approach in health and social care, what to say, what to expect and what points to challenge. We also help draft the necessary correspondence to the various care authorities, to argue the case for funding. We do all this by email and phone.
