Private client solicitors:
Do you handle LPAs, Wills, Trusts or Probate work?
Now you can help prevent your clients being wrongly charged for care

When your clients are facing decisions about long-term care, it’s often hard for them to know what to do.
- Your clients may not know how the care fees system works.
- The NHS and Social Services may give them conflicting and incorrect information.
- Your clients may be denied the nursing care they’ve already paid for all their lives through taxation – and which the NHS has a legal duty to provide free of charge.
By tapping into our specialist care fees expertise to help your clients, you have a natural extension to your current services.
Probate:
Ask your client about any care fees paid in the past.
If you’re handling the estate of someone who has died, but who was in full-time care and paying care fees, the estate may be able to claim back fees that were wrongly charged.
LPAs, Wills and Trusts:
Ask about care fees.
If your client – or their elderly relative – is currently in a care home and paying care fees, the NHS may have a duty to pay those fees instead. Your clients can retrospectively recover assets wrongly taken to pay for care.
These care fees often amount to tens of thousands of pounds. If your client has primarily health needs, the funding they should be receiving is called NHS Continuing Healthcare, and it covers 100% of care fees.

How we work
We work directly with your client, starting with an initial brief chat (free) to explore whether there’s a chance of reclaiming care fees and/or securing ongoing NHS funding for care. We do this by phone.
After that we charge for our services stage by stage, based on the amount of time required. We act as a mentor and guide for your client, showing them what to do at all times, who to approach in health and social care, what to say, what to expect and what points to challenge. We also help draft the necessary correspondence to the various care authorities, to argue the case for funding. We do all this by email and phone.
